Sandbox tool doesnt work

Hi guys, im trying to use the Sandbox tool from scratch (Sketchup 8 free) however it does not work. It asks me to place my first point so i do, then second point and it wont create this..what am i doing wrong?

Check that your grid size isn't larger than the surface you try to draw.

Managed to get it working..for some reason selecting Draw/Sandbox/From Scratch from the drop down menu doesnt work, but selecting it from the Toolbar does..strange but works great now.
