If god gave dominion to man over all the animals on earth I wonder if her/she could have foreseen the future of farming.

What's even worse is how some of the farmers are treated by the big companies...nearly as bad as the animals! The whole industry is so messed up...watch "Food, Inc." (its available streaming on Netflix) for a more complete story.

A better option than that mass produced supermarket food is a local farmer's market, less pesticides in the fruits and veggies, less embodied energy (fuel used to make and transport), generally better all around.

              Hi,

Also, we consumers are not blameless in these states. Everyone must start with yourself and think about his consumption behavior. It is easier to complain about these evil corporations than to think about his own behavior. If we would restrict all our consumption behavior, some of the problems would take care of itself. Everything else is just hypocrisy. And this applies not only for meat production.
