The best way to break bricks in half
-
Hello Folks,
I am working on a project and I have a little problem.
I am not at all satisfied with the way my bricks are "broken" now, as shown in the red circle above. Does anybody know a good way to break them in a more natural way?
Thanks!
Pieter

This is not how a brick broke .. usually they broke in height not in width and they let a rough surface not like they're laser cut.

Is this what you are thinking of?
I am trying out the new plug artisan, that took about 30 seconds.
(forgot to round the edges of the brick)
Plan to buy it, it is amazing.

Wow that looks really cool! But I am not sure if it will work for my purpose. Does anybody know any free plugins I can use?

U can create an irregular plan with sandbox tools(using from scratch and smoove tools) and intersect that plan with the bricks.
I exaggerated a bit with the space grid(too many faces) but u can set it lower.

Thanks! Good point about the verticality Ely. Indeed, the sandbox tools could be useful, you're right. But the only thing is that it is not very "raw" or edgy, you see what I mean?

Maybe you could apply the Randomize Sanbox Tin plugin for a rougher texture?

That may be a good idea too, thanks!
