This DraftSight software has already been mentioned here already. It should really be renamed "Daftsight", because IMHO, it's rubbish. If Dassault really want to knock Autodesk's crown off, they should try a little (much) harder than this.

A true comparison would be with other free CAD offerings rather than ACAD.

I was just trying it out as a file converter. We have been having some problems with cross platform, and cad to cad conversion. It is a 2d program, so some exploding seems to be necessary, but it works pretty well. Although the license specifically prohibits commercial use, so at the moment the fact that it works is moot.

pretty interesting introduction... but pay attention at the license terms! Not so friendly as the website. I left the executing and removed it
