Can someone point me to a how-to or tutorial on how to create cartoon characters in Sketchup? I have Google searched, but I cannot find anything!

Subdivide And Smooth will be your best friend for character modeling....that is the plugin used most in numbthumb's links
Here is a good blog about modeling cartoon cars that may also give you some ideas: http://cartoonz3d.tumblr.com/

Derek,
What type of cartoons are you interesting in?
Do you have SDS, TOS, FFD and Fredoscale ruby's?
And most important, how much SU modeling experiance do you have?

Sorry for the delay... I've been sick. I will look at the link you all posted when I get a chance. And to answer your questions, Pete,I do not have any plugins. I am looking to melo like Tinkerbell and Betty Boop to make paper models. And my experience would be beginner...

If you haven't already, I highly recommend watching all of the videos on this page: http://sketchup.google.com/intl/en/training/videos/new_to_gsu.html
Once you are done with them, here's another video that may help with organic modeling/cartoon characters without any plugins:
