I hope Facebook goes the same way myspace/bebo went. Tits up!

It's a pain in the hole. Fine if you wanna have a bit of fun or if a site wants to distribute some important info. But this poking and thumbs up stuff is for kids. I've a facebook account so my friends and family can see pics of my son. That's it. It's handy to track Twilight and other interests.

I really couldn't see forums being replaced by this. If it did I'd still frequent forums as it's the best means of communicating. I couldn't give two sh!ts if FB disappeared in the morning. I realise it's vital for disseminating info for certain businesses and for family to keep in touch but as a special interest medium it's too ragged.

But if I become single anytime soon I'm sure it'll be essential ๐Ÿ˜‰

Could be my wording... ๐Ÿ‘ Except of tracking part, there I prefer RSS.

I never understand why facebook gets criticim from some quarters.

I love FB, because I've tweeked it to suit ME.

I hate the apps, never use them, I block them on my newsfeed so they never show. I am never friends with people who I wouldn't speak to if I bumped into on the street. I hide my friends and family members if they write drivel and i stop 'liking' things for similar reasons. I never poke. Sure, it takes you a little while to streamline your page but once you have.

With things like they are today, most of my friends are online between 8 and 5, and like me, spend a significant proportion of their leisure time online. It just makes sense, as a way to chat and share. ๐Ÿ˜„

I believe a better use of time is getting involved in the help forums. It's truly amazing how much you can learn from reading issues that people have with utilizing some of the internet tools that provide help forums, and seeing how those issues are addressed by more experienced users.

I would encourage anyone that has the time to be on Facebook to use that time to maybe contribute some of their expertise in helping others that don't have as much experience.

Between SketchUp, Google Earth, Google Maps, Google Places, and a number of many different help forums, there is plenty to do, and many that could use your help.

Totally agree with what your saying there, Jack.

Facebook for me, is wholly used for my 'social life' and forums, message boards et al for anything work related.

I use FB for following many architecture sites, keeping up with friends and political discussion boards, a great place to kill time while nursing a render.

I certainly hope not. Donยดt have any interest in FB. Donยดt need "like" buttons here either.

Amen to that. I absolutely refuse to FB at all!!!! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Did I say that strongly enough? FaceBook, MyBook, Myface, Spacebook. .. I hate em all! I have always enjoyed the charm and camaraderie of this weird, funky little community of Dweebs, geeks, devotees and gizmoids known as The Sketchup forum. This is all the FB i need and I will be very glum indeed if this EVER goes away.

                    My 2 Cents

It says Facebook has been online since 1997 and SketchUcation since 2005. So this means that in 9 years, SketchUcation will be as popular as Facebook now...

Google should do a version of Second Life based on, in and around SketchUp! Wouldn't that be fun? We could all meet up within our creations!! ๐Ÿ’ญ

Farcebook doesn't cut it for me. I prefer the good old pub! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Oh dear. Still, a brilliant idea. I think perhaps it was technology too ahead of its time? I still think that it could work. ๐Ÿ˜„
