    anything new here?

I've sidestepped with QuadFace Tools. But everything in QuadFace Tools are things that can and will be transferred to Bezier Surface - since it's dealing with quad-patches. So it gives a double benefit - free tools for people now while at the same time it acts as research and development for Bezier Surface. πŸ˜„
I'm close to release QuadFace 0.4.0 now, which features UV mapping. Then I'll finish off Vertex Tools 1.1 which is also nearly done. Then focus goes back to Bezier Surface directly, porting lost of stuff from Vertex Tools and QuadFace.

So yes, lots of new stuff! πŸ˜„

Yes. There was very little that happened in 2011, due to various reason, but I've picked up and moving forward again. I hope to be posting more info on development soon. πŸ˜„

I think the test model for Bezier Surface will be a Beetle or one of them old classic '20 or '30s classic cars with lots of rounded bodywork. πŸ˜„

More than one patch is possible - it was just that one patch was enough for the basic shape of a fender like that. πŸ˜„

There are four. It's the same model as the first screenshot of the fender - but with patches added to both ends and one on the side ( selected ).

Spare time, mind you. Which is why it's still in development. 2011-2012 was a slow year for me - due to various reasons.

But now I got the Vertex Tools update out and I'm aiming to complete a core set of bezier surface tools. Then I can start making incremental updates to both products.

The Gizmo was a big task - required in both plugins. It still has features and improvements, but at least it got a basic feature set.

Now that the core is getting more mature and I start to add the tools I'm finding it very fun to just play around with abstract shapes. Moving, scaling and rotating randomly just to see how the geometry shapes itself, creases etc is very fun. I realised I don't play around like this much any more.
