I get the msg "Cannot move face - face touching at corner must be a triangle" when I try to move the faces on this model. I did the same thing on the other half of it and it worked fine. Have searched the net and these forums, have come up with no information on what this message means or how to fix it, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

You probably already know this, but I will throw it out anyway.
Sometimes when I get this message, during a Move command, I hit the Alt button and it will allow to move the selected face, or if you wanted to yank on a vertex, mouse over it and click. The Alt button "locks" the move to the xyz or red green blue axes.
Now you might say, "but that isn't the condition here"
To which I might say "then draw in some triangles to establish for SU/OpenGL the orientation of the face in question." There might be the tiniest shift off orthogonal here.

I take the slow, deliberate approach in my aimless wandering.

Don't ever assume this with me 😆 The amount of stuff I don't know is staggering, and increases daily. And it did the trick, thanks.

So, which approach did you use? Alt+Move, or add edges to the face?

Went with the simplest one first (alt move) and fortunately that was all I needed. These forums have yet to let me down, but I make it a point to first exhaust all other potential sources of solutions to my petty problems. It would be too easy to just come running here first. Don't want to make too much of a pest of myself 😆

For me, reading as much of the forums as possible, whether seeking an answer to a problem or not, challenging myself with non business modeling projects, "going down blind alleys" and discovering the intricate behavior of the program has helped develop my methodology. It really does take some time in the trenches and soon these things will become second nature to you.

Thanks, that's a new one on me, too.

Sometimes I come over here and just read and find out all kinds of helpful stuff I didn't realize that I didn't know. Does that makes sense? 👊
