Screen Refresh?
-
When I'm working for a long time with a lot of windows open, I'll bring up a window I've minimized. Sometimes they will show the lines of a drawing but some groups will be missing. Is there a way to redraw the screen? Or is there another workaround for this?
Thanks,
Jim

Do you mean you are running multiple instances of the Sketchup Application or multiple Versions or do you mean multiple windows of multiple applications, such as word processor, email, Sketchup, Google Earth, Bing Maps, Sudoku, your favorite quasi ideological blog, so on?

he's on mac so it's a bit different in that if you have multiple windows of sketchup open, it's still only one instance of sketchup.app being open..
(i saw someone open another window on windows once and was surprised to see that the app launched again )@jim..
i don't know what to tell you because even though i do what you're describing quite often, i've never encountered the problem you're seeing..
what happens if you orbit the model? that, in effect, will cause a refresh.. -
Wow, that's interesting about Windows. Yes, I'm on a Mac, and I never would have guessed a second window would reo-open SU.
To answer the original question, I have both open. You must have been looking over my shoulder, mitcorb, you listed all my open windows ;—) I tend not to restart too often, like every three weeks or so, and sometimes I get sloppy in the housekeeping.
That's a D'oh moment there, Jeff. Of course a rotation is a refresh. I closed and reopened and it was fine, but I guess that wasn't necessary.
Thanks,
Jim

Sometimes, when running a lot of programs, some get delegated to the cache. When reopened, the screens are sometimes messed up. Try a small resize to the window by grabbing the corner and shaking it. Sort of like "kicking tires"-) Hmm...not sure what you can do if you are full screen, maybe just clicking on the window/full screen mode (is that what its called?) will reset the window.

I'm sorry, Jim57, I was being a little facetious, but trying to get at your issue. I failed to notice you are using a Mac, and assumed this was a MSWindows problem. I am glad that Jeff and HDT were able to help.
Best Wishes,
