Okay so this will hopefully be my first dynamic component. i read and completed SketchUps flag demo but still feel confused (this tends to happen when I see formula)

      Attached is the component image.

Firstly should I have the top of the decking separate to the bottom, at the moment it is one object?

I only need the component to move along the red and green axis, so will I only be changing the size attribute. In fact I could possibly get away with only have one axis that is dynamic. I believe position is unimportant for this.

      Apologies if I sound vague.

This is what I would like the component to do.

Is there a list anywhere of all the dynamic terms such as COPY, PARENT etc? I'm starting to understand a bit more, after watching a vid.

I would study the dynamic picket fence and tile flooring demonstration files.

Where can I find these? I found a good video "stickied" at the top of this forum, a bike rack.

                Hi Andy,

Google created a few Dynamic Component examples and posted them on the 3D Warehouse.

This page is a good starting point for DC documentation.

                Hi
