Can anyone Fix the Film and Stage Plug In?
-
No one has worked on it since V5 and frankly there were bugs in it in the WIN workings even then.
You can still find the download but it automatically installs under the @Last Folder in SketchUp5 Plug Ins folder. I have all the files ( there seems to be a license file that comes with it and installs under the SketchUp5 Folder) so I can provide.I don't think that Google has made it a priority to work on this. Would it be kosher if someone here picked up the slack and fixed it? Is anyone interested?

I agree, Susan. Even without the bugs and lack of maintenance there were inconsistencies as well. Easy to use, flexible, camera tools are needed for SU.
I am wondering if this could be an on-going development on SUcation where members could suggest, test, and refine a new Film & Stage.

It is pretty old... but the installer will make the sub-folders if they don't currently exist inside
C:\Program Files\@Last Software\SketchUp 5\
You can also choose a new destination folder from the installer [although that 'empty' folder must exist beforehand]
When it downloads you can simply move [or copy] all of the sub-folders with their contents into your current 'Sketchup N' folder and merge them with your existing../Components/
,../Plugins/
etc...
Is there a 'bugs list' - what needs 'fixing' in the tool's operation exactly ? -
TIG, I submitted a list of "inconsistancies" to the folks at Boulder a year of two ago. I don't have it anymore but will get a hold of my contact there to see if they have a copy.

It is actively being worked on.

Good - whose is it ?

Me at first. But now Google is going to redo their version. Then we'll see if I add anything on top of it.

Over to you...

See these notes:
http://sites.google.com/site/3dbasecamp2010/unconference-sessions/sketchup-in-the-film-industryThe paragraph numbering appears to be broken in the document, although the content seems fine otherwise. It was correct when I wrote the original, so I can only assume something went wrong when it was converted to HTML by the site maintainers. Hopefully it's still helpful anyway.
