Question about VUE
-
Hello,
does anybody know, how to populate vertical face in VUE?
thankscoulteri

What do you mean exactly? What kind of population (trees, stones, buildings, people?)
The simple workaround to start with an horizontal or sloped surface, populate it and then make it vertical with a simple rotation; this may not meet your expectations, because a vertical village looks a bit odd
You can set better this variable in the material editor: there is a slider that controls the population in relation to the slope.

I would like to populate the wall of building with plants. Yes, I tried to do it using the way of rotation. I´m not very familiar with VUE and I thought, there could be a switch, that enable vertical populating. Another problem is to make population on face hidden under another face (glasshouse). I solve this merging more projects together after populating of them.

just two words: Ivy Generator

My avatar image is made with SketchUp (building shapes), populated with Ivy Generator (over the luminous structure), imported into Vue where I added the tree and rendered the whole scene.
You can easily replace the ivy leaf texture and create different vertical green walls.

Thanksa lot! I will try it.

No, I haven´t. ... What is it?

Since version 7 this has been possible by using the slider "Direction from surface" in the ecosystem painter. If set at "perpendicular" you can populate up-side down if you want to.
