Importing from Google Earth 3D
-
i am modeling a building whose surroundings are almost totally in GE 3D. it would be great if i could import the terrain + buildings. does anyone out there know how to do it? importing the terrain is easy enough but what about the buildings? do i have to look for them in the 3D Warehouse?
thanks in advance.

In SU 7.1, after importing the terrain from Google Earth into SU, I think you can right click and choose "Get nearby models" or something like that...let me see if I can find the Sketchupdate post...
Edit: Choose "Nearby Models" from the dropdown in the Components browser.

thanks!
this solves my problem. -
after doing some tests we ran into an odd problem. after selecting Components>>Nearby Models we choose one model and are able to download that one. then we select a second one and after downloading it all we get is the 1st one over and over. however, this does not happen with all locations. with some it does with others it does not.
any ideas?
