Is there a simple plugin that returns X,Y & Z of a point
-
What I was looking for would let me click on an edge, or point on a face and get the x,y and z distance from the origin. I thought there was a plugin like this, but didn't find it on a quick look through Smustard.

It is built into SU. Look in Tools > Utilities > Query Tool. Hover over a point to get its 3d location.

Thanks, I guess this should be on the "Duh" thread. Now I remember running across this when I first learned ruby.

See http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=238662#p238662 it is a tool to put x/y/z text for select cpoint[s] [guide-point[s]]. To add cpoints there are also other tools - see that post...

A related question:
Can I choose a point, and move it to and x,y,z coordinate, instead of moving it based on length with the move tool?

So it sounds like moving a point to specific xyz coordinates can only be done through a plugin, or directly from the console. Is that correct?

NO [I actually posted the direct link to the plugin, when I thought it was a post with other info, that had the link too!]

THIS link http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=240893#p240893 covers absolute/relative inputs in the VCB [and then links off to the plugin].......... -
Perfect. Thanks, TIG.
