      Hi all ...

i was wondering if a script could be written that would automatically colour code top-facing faces either by layer or material based on their z axis attribute ...

this is to produce a 2d building height plan from the 3d model ...

      Thanks in adavnce

i was after something that could colour code each category of height that the user can specify in a dialog:

          Yellow: 0>4m
          Orange: 5>9m
          Red: 10>14m
          green:15m>20m
          blue: 20>30m
          black: 30m+

Use this colormap.png colormap.png [edit the image to adjust the 'band heights' to suit your needs - I made black very big to catch all buildings >30m] and follow the steps...Capture.PNGCapture1.PNGCapture2.PNG
