Coffee Tables
-
I was searching a few furniture sites this weekend and saw a few things I liked.
Whilst having a spare hour I modelled two tables. These are not modelled for efficiency, I used the 30minute challenge rules to model as quick as possible to get some practice.
The colourful one has a lot of rounded edges and high sided arcs. Could look nice rendered!
The wooden one is very basic and in my haste to model it I forgot to increase the arcs sides, hence the visible straight edges on the curve.
I can quickly re-model this should anyone want a better version.

Nice work. I like that first one quite a bit.

Not a coffee table, but a table based on the image here:
http://www.ronaldemettfurniture.com/
There are no images to show how the designer coped with the curved legs on the underside of the table, and so that bit is probably all wrong. I cannot quite determine (from the image) if the inner legs curve inward towards the centre of the table, or lie in same plane as the outer legs. I made them curve inward. I scaled the image to make Ronald Emett 5' 10" tall, and then used the tape-measure tool measure critical dimensions. I used the golden rectangle ratio to determine the width of the table from an assumed/guesstimated 1400 mm length.

Here is that Cornered Table or a version of it. I'm not sure the dimensions are right but I took a shot at it.
