      Hi Guys,

Anyone got an iPhone 4 yet? They look cute and the front camera is a nice feature but I am reading a lot of stuff about loosing reception when it held touching both sides of the thing!

Is this rubbishing by competition of a fact? They are not in Ireland yet so I can't test one.

      Mike

Dunno Mike, will let you know on Thursday as I have my upgrade due and in stock then. AT&T suck at keeping to delivery dates however.

This is a little OT but i installed the new iOS4 firmware last week on my 3Gs and found the battery running down alot quicker ๐Ÿ‘Ž

Think i'll wait for the 4Gs before upgrading as Apple have a tendency to change their knickers after every fart! But don't see how holding it would cause signal issues as whats the difference between your hand and walls?

But what is nice about the new OS is when you've iBooks or Stanza installed and you download a PDF it puts it straight in your library. Great for having references for Fredo's plugs or any catalogue etc.

Here's a link to a story I read on CBC a few days ago. Apparently there is a problem.http://www.cbc.ca/m/rich/technology/story/2010/06/25/apple-iphone-signal-loss.html

Good idea. Apple always bring something out and then a couple of months later there is a better, cheaper and higher memory version with all the wrinkles ironed out.

By the way, I have a brand new and unopened IPhone 3GS (16GB) still in its box if anyone is interested in buying? send me a PM if so.

After reading that link I'm still finding it hard to believe that a person's hand can create such a problem? If Apple have dropped the ball on this ingenious way of incorporating antennae into the over structure, it could mean disaster for this handset. To make the claim 'to hold it properly' is a little antagonising IMO.

No wonder the guy who left it in the bar didn't want it! He must got sick of missing Stevie's calls

I read about a guy who knows some of the higher-ups at Apple and managed to get this complain emailed to Steve Jobs. The reply he got from 'big Steve' was "don't hold it like that then". Customer service FTW!

i guess you could just wrap a piece of duct tape around your phone! ๐Ÿคฃ

Just to confuse matters, comparison between iPhone_4 and htc Desire

The htc desire is a good alternative and has the Android software and Sense UI.

I also understand that you can hold it any way you damn well like and it still works, which has got to be a plus.

                          Regards,

                                  Apple have released a fix.

They are charging ยฃ25 for a "rubber bumper" that solves the bridging problem.

                                  Bless.

(I'm sure a discrete strip of black insulation tape over the offending area would be sufficient.)

Life's a reach, and then you gybe.

Jobs: "Just avoid holding it that way.". I guess someone did forgot that one use of the phone is calling! Have to say that it do look great... why just look and admire it. Ridiculous demands - no need for calling.
