Free 411 information service from Google
-
Well you will no longer have to pay for your 411 service anymore. Google is offering a free service..... They're everywhere http://www.google.com/goog411/
-
US and Canada only
Good service though!
-
Does it usually take a while before these kinds of services are implemented in Ireland?
-
Nice it just came to Canada
Also have you heard of Google Voice?

Unfortunately, yes we suffer from been late to what rest of the world calls 'technology'.
I'd imagine we'll be able to phone this service when it's no longer in use...
-
Better write a note to Google rich.
Get some more Irish people to do the same.
Hopefully that would help.
I'll chip in if you want.
My language Teacher would be so proud in me.
Writing short sentences like this. -
Google MapMaker is not even available here. It is in "fairly new" countries like Kosovo however... I dunno what the heck they are doing.

Well if Google is that bad, that must mean you still don't have the iphone, (In Canada we always wait for apple)
-
I don't know about iPhone (I have a cheap phone that I use for phoning and do not follow the novelties) but indeed there are a bunch of things Google is not expanding to other countries.
Just to name one; there is no SU reseller in Hungary which I would not care about but for this reason, there is no way students, trainers (professors) can get educational licensing or schools lab licenses. When I asked the SU sales guys about this, they said they branded whole Eastern Europe (not as if Hungary were in Eastern Europe) to a certain company but I have never heard back from this company (for almost two years now).

With this 411, you can call anybody or only shops service?
And the call itself is it free? -
I think this might be US only, but someone will have to check; you can get flight status information by texting/SMS a flight number to Google on your mobile. Send the flight # and 2 letter airline identifier (i.e., UA123, AA345, B6123, etc...) to GOOGLE (466453).
-
It is only available int the U.S and Canada (right now anyway) and just for businesses at the moment.
-
Thx for the precisions
