Render plugin for SU

Hi everyone,
I am not sure is this a right place to talk about rendering plugin for SU. Do we have a forum for that and Does anyone here using Maxwell render?

I'm not sure what the correct forum would be either - but I think it is the extensions one, which was meant for plugins that tie SU to other softwares (as opposed to plugins that work within SU). Anyhow, this is fine, or this thread might get moved to the Extensions forum.

As for Maxwell, I do not use it, but there are some people around who do use it. Someone even wrote a plugin that helps manage Maxwell materials in SU. I forget what its called, but dig around in the plugins forum for any Maxwell plugin. Supposedly it is a pretty good plugin.

Hi Chris,
I have been searching around the forum and other websites but no luck so far.. It would be great if you share me the plugin link. I am very interested to see what it is.. The whole problem with maxwell render is that I am still not 100 % sure how to use the HDRI and how to control the sun light direction...

That should help. There was discussion here on the forum when Maxwell came out in beta, and again when it released its actual release.

But it seems to have lost favor with most people, because it made some changes that made it behave differently than the original beta. So I do not think there are many users that use it exclusively. But I'm sure there are users who use it or know how to use it.

I use Maxwell and there are several others on this forum who I know do as well but Maxwell has their own dedicated forum, with a Sketchup section where Maxwell specific issues can get resolved much quicker:

Teh Maxwell plugin at the moment is getting a total makeover. And as you can read on the dedicated forum at the Maxwell site it should be a huge improvement over anything previously released.

I am using Maxwell now for a few years and I think its great in combination with SU. But be sure to check out the new plugin when its released, it might put Maxwell back on top for a render app's for SU.
