I have used vray a little but I don't know anything about its animation potential. I have version 1_05 and does anyone know of some specific tutorials I could look at for vray animation assistance? Also, as far as I understand you cant do sections in the animations but can you do layers/on off?

In order to use the V-Ray animation, go to the V-Ray Options menu and go to the 'Output' tab. At the bottom, you should see an Animation section. Just check the box next to 'On' and then set your desired frame rate. Vray doesn't actually make avi files. It simply renders each individual frame as seperate image files. You can choose the image type and location where you want to save all the frames by checking the box next to 'Render Image File As'. Once all of the frames have been rendered, you need an avi creator program to compress all of the frames into an avi file. (Quicktime Pro is the most popular for this. There are some free software online that do this too.)

You're welcome. You don't need an SU-specific tutorial. Vray for Rhino and Vray for SU are identical.

It cover most of it but there are significant differences when it comes to exporting the animation and also the set up. The author talks about seting frame rates which i'm not you can do in SU. also the export for SU animation is different to that of Rhino.
