Problem with "Rendering" Scenes with a Drawing Style
-
Hi there!
I am working at a big shop fitting company in Germnay. We are doing interior Design, and sometimes i get enough time doing SketchUp Models of planned shops.
SU works works really good so far, and i´ve made several models with it, which were all a big success, ending in actually bulding these shops.Of course i have some things i don´t really like about SU, but they are more little problems. My biggest problem is making screenshots of the models using drawing Styles i made by myself, esiacially with shadows enabled. Sometimes i create a new scene, rotate the cam just like it want it, als SU need just some seconds to "render" the scene with shadows in hand drawing style. But sometimes i have to wait about 10 Minutes? The funny thing is, when i have finally made the new scene, wwaiting for 10 Minutes, i rotate the cam just slightly and the new screen takes just some seconds!
So my question is: The my selfmade handdrawing style corrupt in some way? or ist it just luck to get the cam in a position which "renders" fast? It´s really annoying i must say, especialle when your boss stands behind you and waits for the screenshots
Maybe somebody can tell me ...

Styles with special edges like that takes much longer for SU to process. Shadows also adds a great amount of time.
What you are best of doing is making your camera adjustments with a quick normal style and only toggle on your custom style when you are ready to export.

Well, i already tried this ... but in some angles the problem still occurs Is it possible that the style i made myself is to "complex"? I could imagine that it takes more time to render a style thats build on many strokes...
