      hi!

is there a simple way to increase the vertical height of the house (circled below!)

when i try to extrude the interior walls they pull out against the angle of the roof

i basically just want to make this whole thing about 3' taller without changing anything else!

      thank you!

It depends if anything is in groups and similar in the model. Basically the Move tool would be the ideal solution but depending on the above, it can still be complex.

Can you share the file? (Upload it as an attachment)?

          hi!

i don't think i can upload, the file is like 12mb and i'm at a work computer which has limited internet access

there aren't groups, unfortunately, and there's a hidden roof layer. i'll try with the move tool, but if it's complicated i guess i'll have to start over

to prevent this from happening in the future, should i make that circled area one big group?

In this particular case, the fact that nothing is grouped is actually a lucky situation regarding how you "stretch" heometry with the Move tool.

Have a look at this basic tutorial here about the ideas how to do it.

            http://tutorials.sketchucation.com/stretching-an-object/

Basically, with a left to right selection box select everything that is above the bottom of your walls and move them up by 3' (you can make sure they are moving UP by pressing the UP arrow button on your keyboard)

              Just browsing through posts.

If you have too much detail or hidden stuff on top, try moving the WHOLE model UP by 3 ft, then with a front or side view, L-R select the LOWER part of the model and move it DOWN 3 feet. Then you can go in and fix any bits that either didn't move or accidentally moved. This avoids moving & fixing the far more complex upper part of the model.
