This is an interesting move ...
Watch out, Joe’s Bait and Tackle, you better not have a big, open glass door with light wooden tables along the middle and light wooden shelves lining the walls on which you will display your wares, including, but not limited to laptops and computers. Apple has that entire color scheme and layout on lockdown, so don’t even think about it.
So I wonder what happens when a shop designs a similar shop-front and interior layout. From what I see Apple's exterior / interior design is not particularly unique. I would go as far to say its quite clinical and bland. Any thoughts?

Ahhhhh! So that's why he didn't allow the farting app on iPhone Apps! As regards breathing goes .... well he's not on for any 'heavy' breathing movies on the iPad

Wow, Apple is really getting neurotic to the Nth degree about everything. Wonder if they'll eventually "Snap"?

I'm way uniformed but willing to guess that most if not all corporations do this stuff. I wonder how many trademarks starbucks has for instance. Or the gap.

I think couple of years ago I even did read about some trademark suit where judge did order the defendant to change its store layout and marketing...
But back to the apple store... for me it really does not look unique. I have visited some cloth shops that have fairly similar atmosphere and layout.
