Any time I read a tale about hedgehogs (or saw some cartoons) in my childhood, there always used to be an apple on their backs.
I don't know how it is over there - you guys may make cider* from every fallen apple all the time and not leave any for the poor hedgehogs!

why is there an apple on the hedgehog? am i missing something obvious?!
