Drape error
-
Hello!
I´ve got a problem with drape tool. I have quite large flat terrain and when I drape some lines onto it, not all of them appear....
Have you any ides, why this happens a how to fix it?

I've also seen this behaviour. Would be nice to know why not all edges drape properly.

Probably the inherent precision limits of the program. Supposedly overcome by temporarily scaling up the model to some unspecified extreme proportions. Maybe not- just speculation.

No - it's not small edges that are missing. Edges meters long.

Yes, but what about tiny variations in gradient for lines meters long?

I found some errors in file with lines and this file was imported from dxf format. I´m not autor of it. Some lines were not joint, sometimes there were small lines over the intersections. Could this be the problem?

coulteri:
Yes, most likely either the dxf or the import process.
I am not the expert here, but what I have learned is that the original dwg or whatever, needs to be cleared of stray z values. This happens when the original drafter unintentionally or otherwise failed to snap vectors to appropriate endpoints, midpoints etc.
There is a thread or two here involving best practices for import dxf's and how to prepare them.
