Animate components ?

ok great thanks for your quick answer !

So please, when done with the animation, let us also see it so post it here!

I recently used a similar method to Gaieus, but mine is straight SU output exports and compiled in Keynote (Powerpoint equivalent)
Extremely simple method and very quick.[flash=853,505:1nxle1uv]http://www.youtube.com/v/SYjcCPBCgew&fs=1[/flash:1nxle1uv]

You can also use Mover plug
And put the start move of the object out off the final screen
so every thing seems arrive for aglomerate
Only problem you must reccord screen with prog like Camstasia -
Haha. That fire at the end was scary! And it burnt all the colours off the construction, too!

Hi epfyffer (and welcome to SCF!)
Sure it is possible. Place all the parts on different layers (only put things that are grouped or components to layers other than Layer 0) and in each scene, set the visibility of the layers according to your needs then update the scene. The below video seems to demonstrate exactly what you are after.
After the initial section cut animation I exported the scenes one by one with the different parts of the roofing gradually appearing as still images and made the video from these stills with some transition between them.

Hi Csaba, how did you make the section cut show in solid fill black?
-
Hi Andrew,
Painted the back faces black. More exactly set the back face colour to black in the Styles dialog. Certainly some consistent face orientation is needed.
Unfortunately it is not perfect as certain things either bleed through (as they are inserted components like windows) or cause Z-fighting when components are attached to the others (and what you normally cannot see).
However quite satisfactory if you speed it up enough not to be too apparent.

Ahh yes, now i remember reading somethign about doing it that way....

TIG has been hinting something about a more developed (or feature rich) version of his SectionCutFace plugin that would do animated cuts, too.
At least if I did not misunderstand him.(And over the Twilight Render development they have been hinting about section cut rendering in a future release - now I want animated AND rendered sections at the same time!)

SOunds good Gaieus. Seems there are a few goodies on the horizon.....
