Problem section of my model I need help with.

this is supposed to be a hand rail for a spiral staircase. I've built the stairs in easy sections, but this part is kicking my ass.
I need to link these 2 sections... but I can't get it right..... heeeeeeelp
(tried Tigs tools.. but they can't seem to agree on what should be selected...!)the line curves with the staircase edge as well as upwards....
