Wings 3D+SketchUp+Twilight+Photoshop
Just a play......looks like pollen when viewed under an electron microscope
-
COOL, looks cuddly.
-
I don't see anything?

is that 'cuddly' as in something your want to snuggle up with -or- something you may find in a cow's stomach ?
-
Something I could use in a shower maybe.
-
Ok, see it now, don't know what happened?
Looks kinda nasalistic but funky
-
-
haaaa--CHOOO!
sorry . .. hay fever.
-
Sweet Oli, I love how you did the 'fuzzy' texture
-
Hehe chubby stuff, looks like you can press a hole in it and it'll maintain that form
Cool work -
thanks guys!!
it was fun to make!
the material is a seamless tarmac/asphalt bumpmap applied to a flat colour. satin plastic template to both 'pollen' and studio backdrop (much less reflection to backdrop). image based lighting only.
yes foxar you got the idea, like a semi-rigid polymer or somethin lol
pilou: that gallery blew my mind! I really like some of the very simple things he's done, not so impressed by complex mathematical geometry art
rclub: nasalistic?
solo, if you wanna take this to the shower, then by all means I will send you the 3DS file so you can 3D print it! may be more of an exfoliant than a sponge though! haha
cheers for all the comments, I did it for you guys anyway!
-
Wehew I've got it right hehe!
-
Actually it looks kinda "Nerfy" we should print it out and play nerf football with it.
-
Great texture!!! Great render too
Wings 3d? Let me guess, a subsurf modifier? How many poly this one? -
michalis: thank you. 43,000 edges. you could make this in blender but i didn't know where to start!
I didn't subdivide any more because sketchup would have died!
I can't attach the model, its 4.5MB
-
metallic version, slightly less bump:
-
and a glass one:
took ages to render so I stopped it mid way
-
Looks great, Oli...

Well... There's also A LOT light that needs to be calculated...
Remember that TWR is using Kerkythea as the render engine and KT is a physically accurate render application... -
I wasn't complaining! but maybe the unhappy smiley suggested that!
I always use unbias now

Hi Oli, you can simply zip it. I would love to render that pollen thing... It could be a good twilight material preview object
