      Hello

I'm working with lanscape 3D modelling. There are many hi detailed objects, such as trees. But after adding this object, Sketchup slows down (X2 5200 MHz, GF8800)

Are there any limitations to draw simple forms (e.g. terrain and buildings)in Sketchup and adding trees in Vue or 3Ds? After that I'm need to render scenes in Artlantis.

Will it all work together? Will I be able to export projects from Sketchup to 3Ds or Vue with applied textures? What will you recomend for 3D hi poly objects modelling - Vue or 3Ds?

Solo has done a lot of SU to VUE work. He should be able to answer this.

          Hi Starlex,

Most applications will sooner or later slow down with too many high poly trees (if not during modelling than rendering).

Vue however seems to be designed for this particular job and does it nicely. Have a look at some of the Vue topics in our Extensions... Forum:

            Thanx a lot!

And how about integration between SU and Vue? For example, I find 3Ds extension, with it 3DsMax can import .skp without any loss. But I wasn't worked with 3Ds Max before, and (I was hear about autodesk "fascism"(smile)) it was too hard to start to work in 3Ds. So, what about difficulty? Is it harder then Max?

I was noticed, than SU7 is more faster with Hi Poly objects than SU6. Maybe, if I will bought quad-core top processor, I will be able to work with trees and plants in SU?

              Vue imports .skp files directly.

SU won't make use of multi-code processors. You might get use for it in Vue - I'm not sure how it works. But for SU, it's the speed of the processor and the speed of your RAM and the rest of the system. Higher speed rating for your hardware.
