Default text style in LO
-
Hi Guys, me again the LO newbie...I'm trying very hard to get up to speed in LO to test it as a replacement drafting package.
My new question is how do you set the default text style for labels?
Seems every label I make reverts back to the font Georgia when the rest of my dwg is in Arial Narrow.
I can't seem to find any settings in the document setup, preferences, or text & dimension trays.I know I can eyedropper/paint the style from another object to change it but would be good to change the default.
thanks again in advance,
Mark. -
Hi Mark,
Make a couple of styles of practically everything - shape styles, text styles, dimension styles - name it...
Then save your file as a scrapbook. Now when you start a new file and first enter some text, just click on the respective element in the scrapbook dialog in the tray and copy its style. It will stick throughout your whole document - as well as it will always be conveniently at hand. -
Your template also sets tool defaults (font, line start/end style), and you'll notice on our templates that we have different styles to match the style of the template. You should do the same.
Create a template, use the label tool to draw a label, modify it to the line style and font/font size, etc... that you want. Then sample it, and draw another label to confirm that the label tool is set to the style you want. Delete labels, and save your template. When you use this template, your label style should come through.
You'll see this if you unzip your template, then look at styleManager.xml. The defaults for each tool (text, linear dimension, label tool) and default document styles are set here.
