๐Ÿ˜ฎ I'm blown away. That's as good as the inspiration for the model.

Thanks guys! Pete, it's Vray. The mountain is just a background image that I added in post. Actually the raw render is not impressive at all.

Here's another daytime one to show a close up of the displaced cobbles popping up through the snow mesh. Tried to keep the color balance cold and wintery. If anyone wants a copy of cobble texture or the snow image I used for overlay, let me know.

Had a quick go at this one because I love the model so much. Great job Ely. Quick render and a bit of photoshop.

Thanks Dermot for the compliment. The longer you dabble, the more tricks you collect. The raw renders for those images where nothing special. I spent little time on the materials and rendering. Good photoshop skills can make up for a lot.

Adam, is this V-ray for Max or V-ray for SU? I'm asking because I'm trying to find out how to add displacement map to a texture in v-rayfSU ๐Ÿ˜•

Thanks a lot guys.We can clearly see that in a project the 3d model represent about 20-30% ..the render does all the job.

Amazing picture to get inspired from! But I'll be blunt about one thing, scientifically the moon part of the picture is done wrong-the moon crest should not have the clouds in it.

But still... Amazing picture to get inspired from!

Ok, I gave it a whirl. I had fun with it and learned a few things too. Getting the snow to 'bunch up' on the roof was new to me.

Sweet work Captain! Lighting is very realistic. Vue? Only critique would be maybe a different material for the bottom of the light poles and a touch more contrast overall.

Here's my attempt using image-based lighting AO and I made the windows area emitters.

First one is just linear AO, second is using skybox as emitter (IBL), third is with direct lighting as well.
                                          Lighting time is 3 minutes.
