[Plugin] cmd's mover with dialog and easings (v0.5)
-
im getting an error:
Error Loading File mover.rb No such file to load -- mover_extensions/mover_names.rb
-
AH, yeah that was part of the original mover and I forgot top include it. Thanks. A new version has been uploaded.
-
Updated to allow attaching different easings to individual Groups and Components.
(Probably a short tutorial is in order instead of the verbose dialog box.)
The interface is a little clunky, i think.
-
Is there a demo video clip that shows what this does and perhaps how to use it?
-
Is there some trick to get this work? I see Mover Dialog-option in Plugins menu, but nothing happens when I try to activate it.
-
Thanks, Jim! Do you think there might be a way to hack it so the movement spans the whole scene transition time when output with Whaat's Smooth Animation and render plug-ins? Right now the movement spans half the transition time when using these output methods.

one step closer to have real animations, manymany thanx mate

great stuff, Jim, and I echo Ecuadorian's wish, and also for ability to choose a different rotation point for an object rather than changing it's origin.
-
...Thank you ,Jim!

The transitions take 100% of the scene transformation time. Ive never tried smooth animation, so I'll need to get that and see what mean.

I added a dialog to cmd's mover animation plugin, and also some options to select the easings.
This is a plugin written originally by Google's cmd. It provides a way to animate Groups and Components between Scene changes.
I added a dialog with some instructions on how to use it, as well as easings - various formulas that control the animation between the Scenes.
I attached a simple animation skp. Open the model, start the Mover dialog, Enable Animation, and play the animation (or just click through the Scenes.)
0.3 - added mover_extensions folder
0.4 - saving the position also saves the easing per object and scene. You can set the easing for individual objects by selecting only that object and pressing Save Position.
0.5 - cleaned up the dialog.
Jim
Is there info on how to use this plugin? Sometimes I get it to work somewhat, then it stops. I can't seem to get it to run consistent.
Thanks in Advance

it is reallay great plugin, I wish had some improvement on more graphical interface... plz
-
Hi Jim:
This is really quite nice.
Can you describe in layman's terms how it works. Is it creating something akin to hidden scenes?
Do think it possible for an avi movie to be exported somehow?
-
Dear jim, your job is really great and handy, ..is it possible to have a "path" for easings?... maybe a connection with bezier tools or something....plz? ( also is it possible to embedd in plugin the rotations..etc while easing along path?
-
dear Jim, still waiting for graphical improvement of your great plugin.
-
dear mate, I am still waitng for an update, as I found this one, as one of most interesting and improvements on sketchup animation, maybe a combination with "scene transition time" in a pakage would be a nice update. BTW thank you again
-
I admire your patience, majid, but why not just buy SimLab: It's sort of a SketchUp for animation - Very easy to use. If SimLab had the plugin gurus that SU has, it would be awesome. Nevertheless, it makes animation easy (IMHO)
-
Thanks for the plugin, it works just fine except when exporting the animation as a video.
Objets stay still. Only scenes move.
Is there any possibility to make mpeg movie with animated objects ? -

Make lots of scene-tabs with intermediate locations of the animated objects.
Export the animation as individual images rather than a movie.
Assemble the images into a movie using one of the several free tools available, adding 'betweening' for the additional frames need for smoothness - where composite images are automatically constructed to span between the two 'real' images either side. -
Thank you again for the plugin
Just tested it over sketchup 8 and it was not working.
any conflict with other plugins?
