      Hi,
I'm new to Sketchup and am using it to design a control box. I'd like to somehow attach a schedule of the parts (listing the number, manufacturer, manuf. part number, etc.) somewhere on my Sketchup drawing. Are there any plugins to facilitate this? If not, how do you typically do this, just create it in a spreadsheet?

      Thanks! 😄

Thanks Al, that looks pretty close to what I was hoping to find. I'll definitely come back tomorrow and give it a try.

          Good,

          I would like your feedback.

Space Design Free makes the most sense if you are going to reuse some of the components to make more than one control box.

The attributes are stored in the component definition (which you would then re-save to your component library folder), and if you used the same component in the next control box, the attributes would already be there.

Yee, that will come very handy for woodworkers and furniture makers - to sum-up all the hardware in a project!!!

We have released (at least for Beta testing), our new product, SpaceDesign Free.

This lets you place attributes on component definitions, and product a simple report.

Go here to try it out: Downloads

Or Here to read more about it.

              Its pretty easy to use:

              1. Right click on components, and select "Set SpaceDesign Attributes" to define attributes.

              2. Click the Report icon on the toolbar to define and create your report.

Let us know what you think...

We hope to release a new product "SpaceDesign Free" tomorrow which will let you assign attributes to SketchUp Components and create a simple report.

It creates a .HTML report, or a .CSV file. If you want to include the report in your SketchUp model, you can grab a screen shot of the HTML report and insert it into the model as an image.

You can read more about it here: Space Design

I'll add another post here when it is released.

                    Shoot.

We don't know when we will start converting things to the Mac.

I don't suppose you want to run in a Parallels Window?
