Importing jpeg comes out all black!
-
ive never done this till now, making a model using an image as a blueprint, but when i import the image onto sketchup it comes out all black, funny thing is in the import window the image does show up. I saved the file and went to open it and in the preview window i could see the image/blueprint on the ground but when i opened the file it was still all black. Is this a video card issue?

There have been reports of this before. I think it is a video card issue. Go download the newest drivers for your card and see if that helps,

hmm, i may be missing something here but i havent rendered anything, just trying to get an image to show up in sketchup.
EDIT: strange, the post i was replying to has been deleted.
EDIT 2: i see, it was a spam bot, which is now bellow this post, lol. -

im pretty sure im updated on my video card, i guess im screwed.
EDIT: funny thing is i remember i could get the "current view" from Google earth prior to updating my video card and once i did update it i also started getting black images.

Oh gotcha, this is from a Google Earth image.
Try running Google earth in OpenGL mode, or if you are already, run it in the other mode. I forget exactly what the different video modes are called, but it seems that sometimes one of the modes will import black images.

It's DiretX - to me, it works both ways. Sometimes a video driver release is not very "successful" so either have a check if there's an even newer one or revert back to your previous one (you can do that via the hardware management in Windows.)

no the google earth thing was just an example that "once upon a time" lol i could get images to show but since upgrading i guess thats when the problem came up.

I have had images show up as all black in other applications if they are saved as CMYK.
