      Hi to All,

I found at the trinity3d page two free programs, Paver and Masonry designer, maybe interesting for somebody.

I now remember trying it out before (installed now again). What it actually does is to allow you to put together a couple of variations from the company's brick (and other) products. If you happen to be lucky enough to need that particular brick texture, it's not bad.

I use masonry designer all the time; excellent source for customized masonry textures.
It's offered by a number of brick companies - some have better material than others.

ACME brick company - they have split face block and some other masonry products, besides brick. They have one of the better brick textures.
Beldin - they have both a masonry designer and a separate paver designer.
Endicot - if memory serves me correctly, this one has excellent textures as well, plus a large selection of brick sizes and colors/textures.
There are more, but they are on my home computer, where I do most of my modeling; can't remember them at the moment.

Now, if only someone could create a brick arch design program.

I've been using ACME for awhile now and can agree that it works great. You can pick from tons of bricks as well as mortar colors, even add soldier courses. It will also give you an alpha map (basically white=brick black=mortar so it's a great start to a bump map). I've downloaded Beldin's software as well and other than the types of brick which, of course, match up with their particular varieties it's got the exact same interface. Must have been designed by the same software folks.
