More Hdri , Reflection question
-
Ive seen sometopics talking about hdri and reflections .. but uhmm, lets see ..
Ive tryied in a diferent project, i couldt realize it. How it was a secondary detail, left it behind... now im trying again. Well .. i want things to reflect teh enviroment, but i dont want a bg and want sky as my source of light. This i way coundt apply a hdri map to any of these.. Well.. so ive apllyed a Hdri image to the reflection at the enviroment vray option.
UHmm ok .. the glass is reflecting .. but , a problem is the position ,, i have these maps , im trying to figure the way to apply each of them.. angular, cubic, mirror ball and etc , but doesnt matter how i do that i cant find a way to have my image all reflected. . i mean , just one piece is reflected its like the image is too big .. i have tryied to increase the number of repeations ( how do i write that?) .. but again, , the image is too big ,,, well here is a bulding im modeling ,, and ive applyed a hdri that would fit very well, that it could be reflect entirelly !!! C- u guys !

Was your HDRi just one or two trees. To work properly, a HDRi should be a complete 360 degree by 360 degree spherical image, (or at least 360 x 180 - above the horizon), so it can provide lighting and reflected images from all possible directions.
One "trick" I use when examining HDRi's for reflection is to place a large reflective dome on the ground, or a large reflective sphere in the model to see how the reflection is working. This is much easier to see - with a spherical object reflecting from several angles - then to look at reflection in a couple of windows and try to guess what is happening.

Oh sorry ,,, my mistake .. well in this image tha trees are not part from the hdri they´re 2d trees located at the other side of the street .. The hdri is basiclly a bkue sky with clouds and mountains .. ive tryied another ones tih houses .. but all of them just reflect a small part in a big scale ..
I will try this dome thing !!! But anyway ,, is there a way to reduce or map how it will reflect !?!

In general "no" - an HDRI needs to cover the entire universe. However there may be some tools to help you create a HDRI by repeating a smaller pattern.
You might also try some full HDRi skies from the web, such as this one:
