Hi, I recently noted a peculiar behaviour of Sketchup, wanted to now if it happens to anyone else, and if there is a way to fix it: while exploring any model, if I press the middle button on my Mighty Mouse and inadvertedly scroll it a bit, the model goes back to one of the scenes saved in the Scene Window. So if I have a plan isometric view saved as view number one, while exploring the model it abruptly jumps to that plan view. It is very annoying.

Does this happen on windows? I haven't tried but will as soon as I reboot my mac. Can there be any way to stop this from happening?

      Thanks.

Never happen to me either. I also could never get he hang of the Mighty Mouse, alway felt I should be washing my hands with it as it resembled a bar of soap πŸ˜„ I find the MS Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 hard to beat. Let us know how you get on.

it is an off-topic remark but what i find unbeatable in the Mighty Mouse is its tiny scroll ball: it puts much less strain on your hand than any other model, especially if you spend many hours modeling. i tried one the best Logitech models and could not get used to its scrolling wheel.

This happens to me so frequently that it is impossible to work on a model with scenes.

                I use a Logitech mouse.

Horrible bug and drives me absolutely crazy.

When I am setting up scenes, I am forced to choose the orbit tool and not use the mouse middle button.

Then, I have to have two files, one with the scenes, and one without the scenes, which is the one I can actually model.

Nothing like continually updating a massive city model into the scene file every time I adjust something.

                You are not alone!!

                Cheers, Chuck

                  Did uninstalling Steermouse work?

If so, I will kick myself as I use steermouse, too and have been suffering under this bug for what seems like a long time. Perhaps as long as I have had Steermouse. πŸ˜„

If I remember correctly, I needed Steermouse to program my middle mouse button as the Logitech software wasn't working for me.

                  Let us know!

I believe this is a fault with the Logitech drivers. I use a Logitech mouse on all my Macs and do not use their software and never have this problem.

As for the Apple mouse (which I personally hate but I am glad someone likes them πŸ˜„ ) I would look at what the settings for the mouse are in the Apple control panel. I recall there being a setting for chording (multiple buttons pressed at once) as well as settings for individual buttons that can be set to specific actions.

I created Dilbertville, sorry about that...
