Silver_Shadow, Thank You. Thanks for the model. Thanks for the description of your technique and finally thanks for taking the time.
Top notch. May I humbly suggest putting this up at CGTalk?

Thank you very much for the work you spend this community too. I love to see what's possible with SU and makes me feel it is the right choice.

Again, brilliant work and thanks for sharing so much of it.
Something I have always been curious about Jacques, did you model your avatar? If so, was it in SU or another app?
The avatar is just an image, but could be cool to model it

I didnt see this thread until now.
Wow! And extra plus for all the w.i.p. images. Just incredible detail.
A question: Didn't you have any problems with SU/Vray getting it to render?
I know I have problems when models get to complicated.
The water is also amazing. -
i bought this cool plugin, scene exporter, and this allowed me to set up a main model, and the made 3 separate files with portions of the model in. Then imported those scenes, and rendered them. Because it has less information to handle, it did render nicely and quite big, 3000 pixels. So in photoshop, i just opened my 3 renders, put all 3 renders on top of each other and cut it out with the alphas. Is really fast. It does render longer tho, but at least it rendered.

Utter genius - Congratulations
