      What is too big?

As some may know, I'm busy with garden pack 2, this time I want to include more trees, hedges, grasses, shrubs and flowerng plants, however I also want a product that will render photoreal with all render engines. To do this it needs to be convincing and that will result in a larger model. I know SU has poly issues, but many render apps can bypass that with proxies, ecosystems, bill boarding and just general better poly handling.

      So what is too large?

Here is an example of a Boxwood, that renders well in every app (incl Vray) but may be too heavy at 64000 edges and 23000 faces, 6mb.

When V-Ray 2 comes out with Proxy objects this will be very nice. Though, without proxy rendering this would be too much for a scene unless the scene is only a couple of them shrubberies.

I really can't wait for VfSU2 so I can use models like that. It looks really good!
