I've got a group on Facebook, maybe it will become a company, maybe it won't, who knows. Anyway, what we do is basically, anything on computer, we help each-other out, and work on projects together.
At the moment we're trying to make a movie, but we'll need help from more people. That's why I'm here, I need all the help I can get to make this work, If the project ends up getting dumped, well what did you lose (other than time). So will you help?
-
Sounds mysterious?
Any more info on your project?
-
Without wanting to sound overly pessimistic, i think it's unlikely this will get anywhere.
The fact that your asking people you dont know for help (with no monetary incentive, no idea what the film is actually about, info on any previous projects etc.) is not a good thing.
How do you expect anyone to get interested in your project when you havent provided anything to go on? No one is going to help you if they're not interested and enthusiastic about what you're doing.

Well we haven't decided on a name for the movie yet.
It will be about a war somewhere between 2020 and 2040. The war is between Europe/USA and Russia, the interesting thing is, Russia will win, for two reasons:- Russia changes, becomes better.
- America wins in almost every other movie, how bout some Originality.
I don't know how long the movie will be, hopefully quite long. At the moment we're using Sketchup to model.

I already don't like the movie I have to tell. Russia (the equivalent Soviet Union) invaded my country three times in history - we don't really need a fourth version of this story.
We finally joined the NATO and the EU - why not once in the history of the last say 500 years let us be on the winning side?

Well, guys, it's not the same (and I didn't mean that). I just don't need another invasion.
It's easy for the US to fight with Russia (or Germany or whoever) - in Europe. -

Sounds great, I've got so much time I don't know what to do with it!
I thought about working for a living, or spending my time socialising or educating myself or hanging out with my girlfriend, or travelling... but instead I think I'll spend it all working to help you; a complete stranger, with a "film" project which may, in your owns words, end up "getting dumped".If only I hadn't cancelled my Facebook account... oh well.

This is the first post I've noticed that's getting nasty!
From this point on I wish to point out that being Irish requires me to remain neutral to any warmongering whether real or imaginary.
Yours,
Genghis O'Khan -
Not getting nasty, just poking fun at the notion that time is our least valuable commodity.
-
A movie about Russia is notably naturalisticโฆ, because, since Peter the Great, Russia invaded continuously w/ wild military forces, wild communism, wild gasoducts and so onโฆ
-
Well in this movie, Russia is defending not attacking, USA becomes so High tech they get greedy.
-
...is defending vodka!

Because you're too stupid to win?
You were told who the winning side was and still didn't know what to do.
-
That sounds very harsh John. Am I mis-reading it?
-
The comment comes across harsher than it's meant. It's meant in a tongue in cheek way.
-
Bloody hell John, that just sounded obnoxious. What have Gaieus and/or Hungary done to you? If it was meant humourously, I don't get it.
-
try this jackson.

Of course changing the content of the message (even with smilies) changes the tone. I'm sure John has also mastered the use of smilies, but all the in the world wouldn't magically change the phrase "Because you're too stupid to win?" in reference to Hungary having been repeatedly invaded by Russia into anything other than a personal and/or racial insult.
No John, I'm not accusing you of being a racist, but that comment could certainly be perceived that way.
