Components window

I've been working with sk6 and now 7. I have a questions about how components window works:

how to avoid the conection with 3D warehouse?. I work with my own components and I have a small library. In sk6 it was very easy to get an specific component, now there is a mixing info very confusing. if I need a model from 3d warehouse i launch the browser, download anything and edit but not inside my model, most of the models from warehouse needs to be purged (layers, materials, other groups/components) or just make some changes before using it but not inside the project. so how to stay away from warehouse inside sketchup.
there is no back and forward buttons in this window and I want to know how to "surf" even inside warehouse, I've been trying in this new version but don't get it.
