Hello everyone. Love the forums. I have a very beginner question. I am familiar with Sketchup from work with woodworking models, but these generally are "square or rectangular" shapes. I am now designing a structure made from PVC pipe and have downloaded several of the available 2" pipe objects on google warehouse.

I am having a frustrating time aligning components that are cylindrical or curved. For example, I would like a simple workflow for placing a 90 degree pipe fitting onto a straight pipe (I have both objects). I have found this to be a difficult process using the normal sketchup inference approach since obviously it is the center of the two pipe openings that must be aligned, not a point on the outer walls.

I'm sure there is an easy way to accomplish this that will require less hair loss on my part. Any suggestions?

      Thx in advance.

BTW there are several pugins for finding the cener point, point at center, set center point and one that does it automatically. Sorry don't have the URLS in hand now. Check window, preferences and make sure you have the utilities enabled one maybe in there

Yes, there is one in Preferences > Extensions. The description of the file is out of date, it describes two tools and omits Point At Center and some others.

I haven't dug around in the actual file for a while to remember what all it actually includes. If you do, you can do as I should have and update the text description for that extension to match its real contents.

I suspect Google didn't do that in the last release because it would have meant updating all the translation files too, which key their translation entries from the exact English text. If they leave the English alone, nothing breaks and everything is uniformly out of date and the workaround is to "check everything". Myself, I find that sloppy. Understandable, but sloppy.
