just a tester and sometime translator when plug is fun!
I know one guy who is my Master! A multi paramaniac collector!
And as he want to be the first he makes himself the plugs for his collection!
I have named Didier Bur -
Actually, I was referring to the horseshoes :-} You mentioned plugins, then wrote you had some followed by the photo, soooooooo......

(Maybe this is already widely known info, but it was new to me. So I'll post it.)
So, I've never had many problems with this, and only recently have I even experienced at all. But tonight, I was having MAJOR issues where I couldn't even stack more than two toolbars onto a single line. So having 6 toolbars open meant it took up the top 5 lines, with a LOT of blank space. So I decided to start trying to debug it.
And I found that it is related to the size of the non-maximized window. Sure, if you make it smaller, it will mess up your icons. But if you having trouble just even getting them to sit nicely in a row, then un-maximize your window. Expand that to be about the size of a fully expanded window, then expand the window and all toolbars should work as intended again.
Is that really old news? MAybe it needs a video to explain

This is very interesting. Thinking of it, I haven't had many toolbar problems lately, and I know that my un-minimized size is near full-screen. Might be something to this.

I'm used to it. You need to look cross-eyed, then modeling is no problem... -
What's that speckle of dust (?) at the bottom middle of your screen?
(Ah, maybe a model window?)
-
I concur. Using double screen setups makes the SU icons go bananas.
-
I find that if I stick to keeping SKUP to one monitor, don't add any additional plugins with toolbars, & keep the model in a window, rather than maximised, all is well.
But if I tinker with the layout, or try to spread the palletes to another screen, the layout gets jumbled.
I've also think SKUP gets slower when another screen is added to the mix, but that is another story. -
Don't you mean using SU makes SU icons go bananas.
-
Just don't ever un-maximize your SU and make sure that your un-maximized window is as big as your maximized one. That will help with some of this.

That Wii remote thing is pretty brilliant. I'm actually trying to set up something similar on my tablet pc. Instead of using separate buttons for the functions and shortcuts for the commands i am using a program called stroke-it - where particular gestures can recall commands stored in the preferences of any program - including sketchup. The ideal scheme is to get it to work with all the programs - photoshop, vectorworks, illustrator, Sketchup, maybe even 3d max....although thats a bit more complex . I'll hopefully finish imputing the commands by the end of the month, maybe ill have something to show soon .

I've seen such a video once (I couldn't tell where it was though)

I'm having this problem at home now and its painful. Ouch!
Have tried the maximized versus window thing but no luck.
Google PLEEEASE FIX THIS BUG!!!P.S. And the shadow bug....
-
Darn, I was really hoping that the un-maximized window size would fix this for everyone. Oh well.

My unmaximised window is as large as my maximised. Lots of extra space on the one row of toolbars I got. But when adding a new plugin with a toolbar it still shifts...

I've given up on toolbars. This is how my desktop looks like (just like my real desk )
I am planning to reinstall Jim's custom toolbar plugin to make some order at least in the default toolbars but I have been able to sleep tight ever since I have undocked them all.
This will actually give me the ability to set a bunch of custom window sizes for SU and I even spare cropping images when wanting to match different input-output sizes.

Gaieus, you've been assimilated
