Help with Toolbars
-
Ever since discovering the wonderful world of SU Plugins I have loaded my poor copy of SU with dozens of free and purchased ones and am now getting overwhelmed. By the way I'm using SU7 Pro on a Mac.
Every time I open SU I spend the first few moments closing or rearranging mini toolbars before I can actually get enough room to work.
What I would like to do is to be able to transfer icons for the ones I use most frequently to the main toolbar via the customize window and not have the toolbars supplied with the plugins show up all over the place when I start up.
To get rid of most of these mini toolbars I can go to the Preferences menu and disable the related plugins. However, now they don't appear in the menus or the "customize" window. Additionally some of the plugins cannot be disabled in the preference menu at all since they apparently are made available to the program via some other mechanism.
Is there a way to load these plugins without showing their individual mini toolbars but still have their icons available in the customize window so I can customize my main toolbar?
Thanks,
Brian

You can disable them through view->toolbars as well, which might help keep things a bit cleaner.

Remus,
The problem seems to be whether you close them with the close button on the toolbar or via the view menu, when you shutdown and restart, all of the toolbars show up again and you start all over.

Problem is that both Remus and I are PC users (with our specific woes about toolbar glitches). Mac has its own but toitally different ones. Hopefully some Mac users chime in soon to give some advice.

Woops, didnt notice that. As Gai says there are some separate issues associated with toolbars on macs.

Remus and Gaieus,
Appreciate both of you jumping in. Obviously this is not a life or death matter just an inconvenience. It would be nice though to know if there is a solution.

Try this (stabbing in the dark):
- position your toolbars as desired with an emty model
- svae this model (you can discard later) as a template
- close SU and reopen - see what happens.
This (seemingly totally unrelated) action; saving it as a template seems to have worked for some.

Gaieus,
Tried your suggestion and had hopes that it would work, unfortunately all the toolbars came back.
Oh well....
Thanks again.
