Rendering Giza models in SketchUp

We received a request yesterday for help rendering a Giza model in SketchUp.

Giza is a CAD product for laying out office furniture. It can export DWG files which can be loaded into SketchUp. This user wanted information on how to work with the "Color by Layer" colors in the Giza models and how to assign textures to the materials.
I am placing a thread here on the SUC Forum in case any other Giza users are looking for similar help.
