Drawing not aligned in layout

This seems easy, but:
when I drop my drawing into layout, it is not square to the axis. When I straigten it out, then click on top view, it skews about 30 degrees. I want a non-perspective top-view with the floor plan square to the paper. Is that too much to ask for? HELP please!

Is the model aligned to the axes in SU? (I mean the original world axes) Also, have you set your camera to parallel projection in SU?
