screen shotThere is a tab labeled "create PDF layers from LayOut Layers"

How can i set-up my layout file to be able to enable this option under PDF Export options. It is illustrated in half tone indicating that the option is not availble in this setup?
How do i enable this feature?

      Much Thanks

        Hi Larry,

Although I cannot see your attached screenshot as TIFF's aren't displayed here (or to me?) LO has layers like "on every page" and "on this page" only etc. These will be transformed into PDF layers (so it has nothing to do with SU layers for instance).

Could you attach another format than TIFF so that I can be more certain about what I am answering to (instead of stabbing in the dark only)?

This is currently not working properly on Mac and hence not enabled. Sorry for this: we should make it work or remove the tease?

Just change it to say "SketchUp Layers" instead of "LayOut Layers" and then make it work 😄

FYI, a work around for this for objects drawn in LayOut would be to make the assigned color or line weights slightly different. Then if you have Adobe Illustrator you can select objects with matching stroke, color, etc.

Once (if) SU layers can be exported to PDF Layers, then there can be some very powerful editing in Illustrator, it would be like having style by layer.

Thank you for letting me know about the "teaser".

Just an FYI. I was using Layout to "mock up" a website that i am working on for a client. I don't own Photoshop and want to use and learn LayOut as i see it's great potential as a substitute or maybe compliment to photoshop. If LayOut had a cropping option for images "on-board" within LayOut i could use it for story-boarding website design and save lots of time not having to edit in GIMP or other programs.

LayOut is very intuitive: keep up the good work

"Style by Layer" has someone written a plug-in?

I've used it when I don't have PS, by drawing a circle around the image I want to crop, creating a clipping mask, then adjusting the bezier controls (double click on the circle, add / delete points, adjust curvature, etc..). Not a PS replacement, but works in a pinch.
