Struggling to use Bezier curves

Hi everybody, I have a little problem in using Bezier curves. I understand
the meaning of their use but when I draw a curve on a solid and, for example, I start from a corner, I can't end it making an inference on the opposite edge of the solid. Take a look to the attached file to better understand. Thanks!
