Hi folks.
Me too.
Just ideas.
-
Want them back also!
-
Yes, me too. Every browser should have a back button.

Me too, I really miss the back button.

Could not agree more. I have NO idea why they did away with this. Almost seems like an oversight than something deliberate.

DITTO!

Aye! I really do not understand why they where removed.

I also want the return of the back botton again too!! Or the whole old component browser for that matter!!
I'm doing a exposition project right know and i can't express how much i hate this new browser because it simply doesn't help the modeling the workflow, nothing, and besides the back botton missing, beeing copletly dependant of 3Dwarehouse can be even worst. In SK 6 we downloaded component packs and install it and that was it, but now i have to search each component separatly in 3DW (and 3DW can be great but we all also know how much junk there is there too) using the browser or if i choose to download the whole collection it just have 12 compoenents each...
OH!And besides all the old bugs,i found a new bug in the offset tool...yea...

I also would like to know why this was done, or at least what the thinking was behind removing it.

back buttun disappearing is evil!
-
Maybe they needed to remove it to have room for the search 3dwarehouse box.

I,too, am not happy with the most recent Component Browser.
What where they thinking?

Removing the back button is a really annoying aspect of SU7. I use lots of sub folders and it really is a pain using the drop down list. I don't see why it should be sacrificed for access to the 3d Warehouse, I'm sure both features could be present Imagine the back button was removed on IE, there would be an outcry!
-
I generally use some side buttons on my mouse to navigate back and forth in my browser. It would also be cool if the dialogs could "understand" these back buttons as well (I often try use them instinctively anyway - just to realise they don't work).

happens to me all the time!
I have to admit, I do like the new feature of directly browsing the Warehouse directly from the component browser. however, I don't like the fact that everything is entirely relying on the internet now. I would like SU to come with installed libraries (as in previous versions) + the option to browse the warehouse.
oh, and of course: GIVE US BACK OUR BACK-BUTTON!!!
-
I couldn't agree more. The SU7 components browser is awful and the lack of a back button is ridiculous.
-
I must also agree with previous posts here. Although i believe SU7 is a great improvement overall, this is one area where i still get very frustrated, and i am no SU n00b.
I really miss that back button, and find the new component browser very unintuitive. The SU6 and previous design was flawless, and i quite liked it. Mainly because you could remove any menu item you wanted (except for the in model which makes complete sense).
All these categories get in my way. I wish there were a way to remove some of the menu items in the drop down list. if someone wants to add a library to the menu, they can organize there models in a folder hierarchy within the top-level folder they are adding, thereby reducing the number of menu entries. The (MyModels, MyComponents, RecentList, and ComponentSampler) i will never use, and get in my way.
Having a favorites section just dirtys up the whole menu, and as far as i am concerned, they are all my favorites. I like as few menu items as possible with a structured folder scheme that makes everything much easier(just like the previous Browser).
And a better idea would be to let the user move a menu item up or down the list, this would be a far more powerful way to structure the menu items and replace a favorites section. In my previous setup, all i had was (InModel, GoogleComponents, MyComponents) that was it, everything else was structured below that (and there where thousands of them).
So if you guys can't change the browser now, at least give me the option to remove EVERY menu item i do not want or need. And please bring back that "Back" button .
Thanks -
