      I think it was Jim Foltz who helped someone out once with a scrip(let?) but I cannot find it anywhere. This should be definitely some ruby stuff so if you want,I can move your topic to the Ruby Discussions.

          No ruby needed for this task. The attached video shows how to do it.

          [flash=826,616:1d8a2ptn]http://chrisfullmer.com/forums/camera_update.swf[/flash:1d8a2ptn]

          So what I'm showing is a model with scenes that control the camera location and hidden layers. Each scene has different blocks showing. But say I decide that I want a new camera angle for my scenes. You position it where you want the new camera place. Select all scenes to update and click update. Then only select "camera". Everything else will stay the same, only updating camera, for all scenes selected.

          Another method would be to not even save the camera location in each scene. Then create scenes that ONLY store camera locations. So you could then click on a camera scene, then click on a scene that manages hidden layers. I use that method a lot. I could explain it better if you'd like.

              Its ok, I'd guess a large majority of people have never had to use that functionality of SU. Its really handy though,

                Yes, I think it was tomsdesk who wanted to move the camera straight up by some distance in every scene without changing the camera direction. I wrote a one-off script to do it, but I'm not sure where it is either. It would not be hard to reproduce, though.

                Hi

                  @Chris: 😲 πŸ‘ one learns something every day for sure. I knew mastered scenes (remember BaseCamp;) ) and this is a very cool feature I've never known. Thanks!

                  @Jim: fine,at least I know I don't have Alzheimer now (yet). Definitely that was another case then and couldn't have been solved by Chris' method.

                      Thanks folks, glad it helped!

                      And to have solved Tom's solution, he could have changed the camera height by clicking on the "place camera" icon, checking the current height, adding 10' to that and typing in the new value. The camera would set itself. Then update all scenes as described above.

                        Yeah, but in Jim's example it was a wlkthrough with different camera positions and each had to be changed.

                          Yeah, the method I shows totally falls apart when you have different things that you want to update in each scene. You have to do that manually for sure. what I hate the worst is when I need to change layers on and off over lots of scenes 😞 That makes me cry. πŸ˜„
